Screech

Last week, we went to the library to see a lady who had written a book about an owl. The Wildlife Center also brought along a real owl. He is a Screech Owl, tiny and adorable!! Come with us!

A wise old owl
sat on an oak.
The more he saw,
The less he spoke.
The less he spoke
The more he heard
Why can’t we be
Like that wise old bird?

I didn't realize that owls had the greenish color on them. I love that poem - and why can't we be more like that for sure??? sandie

How fun. I imagine out in the wild he blends in well when he's sitting in a tree

I have always been fascinated with owls. I think they are beautiful and it is very interesting as to how far they can turn their heads. Isn't it amazing how big the claws are...
