It's Four O'Clock

Each year I post our Four O' Clocks. They are named this because they usually don't bloom till around four o'clock, or earlier if it is a very cloudy day. They do not like the early sun. These were around our house when we first moved in over 30 years ago, and still bloom faithfully every year.

That's neat that they survived that long.

I love the quote. I am definitely in the late afternoon of my life, and I am measurably shorter than I used to be. I don't notice that so much, but I do know that it takes Andy and me so much longer to do things now. We were were just laughing about that.

I used to have these at my house!
I love that quote. I am in the late afternoon of my life, too. And I am finding it a very comfortable place to be.

Those are really pretty - I didn't know about those - kind of similar to morning glories that bloom only in the early am.

Awwww Ginny, how pretty those are! I remember my mother talking about Four O'Clocks years and years ago, but I don't believe I've ever seen them. Now I have! :-) Love, Andrea xoxo

They are absolutely gorgeous! I don't think I've ever seen them before and I love the pink and yellow combo. I love how you always change everything on your blog to match too - very cool! Have a great day Ginny :)

Haha I've noticed my shadow shorter too! Beautiful flowers and to live there for so long.

Loved the blooms and the fact that they embody a bit of physical history about your home.

WOW I love the pink and yellow ones! Gorgeous! What a happy thing, them just pressing on year after year. And fascinating that they seem to know what time it is. xoxo
