Of Puzzles & Swallows

Talking to our granddaughters on the phone this evening, they asked me if I could get them a jigsaw puzzle. Well, what a joy for a grandma in the time of covid! Of course! I already had several in our play room. They were meant for us all to work together, but I guess that won't be happening for awhile. So, off we went the few blocks to their house to drop the puzzles off.

They came out on the porch to wave at us, along with our son. The littliest is so cute now, with her front teeth missing!

Once back home, and feeling rather melancholy, I stood at the door and watched the swallows swooping in the air for flying insects. Till there were almost none left.

The twilight tints have left the sky, and night commences her watch over the world, high in the heavens is her taper lit, around which will soon glow a thousand kindred flames.

I'm excited that I am still up for your post (it's almost 11 here and I'm usually already in bed). I love that you were able to deliver the puzzles and see those sweet faces, even if from a distance. Having to distance from family is definitely the hardest part of what we are going through - sigh. I hope you have a great evening Ginny.

Ginny - if the kids have been in awhile - you don't think you could go over there - maybe outside - and six 6 feet apart to visit? So sad.

I know they will love your puzzle.

Too bad you are still in strict lockdown. With face masks at ab outdoor table you might enjoy time at a distance. We have now started that. Only 87 new cases in our entire province and none in our area.

Awwww, how sweet that they wanted puzzles! That's a great activity for kids. Your grands certainly are precious. What sweet smiles. The swallows are fascinating. xoxo

Requesting for the jigsaw puzzles means also they will get to see their grandparents even from a distance. I am sure they miss you and their grandpa very much. Hope things will improve for family to get together without the social distancing once again. Lovely evening sky. Take care and stay safe.

I'm glad your family lives so close, even if you can't visit right now. I'm also glad you had the puzzles for them.

I understand the melancholy feeling, i feel that way all the time and have since the first week of march. i know it has to be so hard for all of you because you were always together and having so much fun. praying it will get to the place where you can visit with them like you used to

You have such a dear family. I hope you will be together soon. I am doing a lot of online puzzles but found a couple of unopened boxes we bought ages ago, stored away and forgot all about. I look forward to starting them real soon.

I'm glad you could see your granddaughters in person, even if you couldn't get any closer to them. Hopefully one of these days soon . . .

Glad you could see your granddaughters and son even from a distance. There is a physical distance but your family is very together in heart :-) They sure will enjoy the puzzles!

Why didn't I realize that your grands lived a few blocks from you, Ginny? Maybe I realized it at one time and then forgot I realized it before. *lol* That happens a lot these days! Oh yes, when a Grandma can fill granddaughters' hearts desire, well.... that's about the best feeling in the world. I'm just sorry you couldn't do the puzzle together. *sigh* It stinks, doesn't it. I feel your pain. Love you, Andrea xoxo

Little kids with missing teeth, are as "cute~as~kittens", aren't they???? ~smile~

Nice that they are not, too far away. Even if you can't interact.

Our youngest 'grands' are right next door, and we have been interacting, for a long time. Their mother is the one, who was getting everything for us, when this Wuhan Virus started.

Plus, both our son and daughter in law, work at home. So they are not having to interact with a lot of people, on a daily basis.

I continue to call it the Wuhan Virus. Always have. Our doctor told us the full story, of its history. And it did start there!!!!

That twilight! You sure captured those perfect colors... Nothing like catching some hugs and kisses blown your way. Of course that was bittersweet! I hate that this pandemic is stealing our times together as family and friends. All the puzzles were really cute... what a good set of grandparents you are!
