Summer Of The White Cat

Last summer, every time we would go up on the hill to photograph the sunset, we would see this white cat. At the same time every evening, he would walk through the cars and behind a fence.

It got so we would look for him every time, and would worry if we didn't see him. Once  we found him sitting on the corner by the tall grass.

So we decided to drive around the neighborood and see if we could find where he lived. Soon, we came upon this little house on the roadside, with a big bowl of food beside it..

Then a kitten popped up from a storm drain! There was a tub of food there, too.

Then other cats came around.

And here was our white cat among them!

How wonderful of someone to provide these strays with food and shelter! Sadly, both the house and the food are gone now! I wonder if the city made the caregivers get rid of them. Poor kitties...

You are very observant, Ginny, you captured all about cats in this post. Not easy to come across cats all on the same day.

That shelter and food was so sweet...it's sad that it's gone. I agree you're very observant.

There is something special about people who care about all god's creatures!

There are a lot of caring people out there who want to help feral cats. Sadly there are too many people who don't appreciate their efforts.

Someone is so kind to provide shelter and food for the stray cats. I wonder where would they go when the shelter and food are no more.

Poor little homeless kitties. It was very nice that someone was taking care of them but sad that it's gone now. Hopefully the kitties were taken to a no kill shelter and adopted. Have a great day Ginny :)

Hopefully the cats were either neutered or spayed, and found homes. Sadly, people get them and never do either. Specially if it is a boy.

Whoever made them move that should be kicked in the butt. What a great idea cats matter! Dogs matter! Homeless people matter! So glad you showed up there and that there are people who care enough to put out that food

Pretty white cat...

But they are feral cats. Which breed "like rabbits." It would be much better, if who ever fed them, did so, to trap them in humane traps, to be taken to a vet, who would neuter them. Neighbors and I did that, at one time, years ago. Not easy but...

It is so much fun, to find something, which reoccurs, someplace we frequent. Like noticing this cat... ~smile~

Concerning your comment on my blog, about "New" and "Old" Blogger.

I just switched to "New" and back. I got this message...

"...We’ll be moving all bloggers to the new interface over the coming months...."

Sooooo.... See? Not the end of Aug. "Over the coming months"

Hehhhhh~Hehhhhh~Hehhhhhh... "New" does not yet, "have all the bugs out"!!! Like I surmised!

It was a wonderful gesture of someone - but I bet they were forced to take down. Probably because it encouraged more cats to come and cause an increase in population.

Hopefully they all found good homes. Those people are very kind to feed them. Where I worked going back several years ago, we had a lot of stray cats. My old boss would try to capture as many as she could. She made it her mission to take them all to the vets, get fixed and find them homes. I always admired her kind heart as it was no easy task and was very expensive.

It's sad when good things disappear. I so loved this story until I got to the end. I hope the cats are OK, they are pretty resourceful. Beautiful cats, beautiful pictures of them.

I like cats and enjoyed seeing this, but it's sad the house and food were taken away.

Oh my word.... this scenario is what nightmares are make of, for rescuers like me. Groups of cats, neither neutered or spayed, reproducing... passing disease from one to another... sickly... a vicious cycle that goes on and on and on until hundreds of cats are suffering. I would have done a mass-trapping of these cats but what a job!! Love, Andrea xoxo

Our local humane society will help if you have a feral cat colony and you want to feed them. That also do the trap, neuter and release program. That white cat looks just like my Smudge!

Are these feral cats? I always thought that meant that they were mean, but then I learned it just means they're un-domesticated and homeless. I love my cat so much, I don't know what I'd do without her. I'm glad someone cares about these beautiful animals. I love the white one but they're all pretty. xoxo
