The Blues

The Virginia Bluebells are in bloom now. The unopened buds are pink, then they turn blue after opening.

According to an old myth, fairies used bluebells to lure and trap people passing by in the woods – especially children.

I couldn't resist adding this last photo, even though I did not take it - I found it online.

Bluebells were said to ring when Faeries were summoning their kin to a gathering;  but if a human heard the sound, or saw them,  it would be their death knell.

These are so pretty and I love the myths that go along with them.
The closest we have to the bluebells are lupines.
Love the blue colors.
