Babana Bark

I got this awesome Christmas card from a blogger. The Wise Men's hats are made from banana bark.

Bark from banana trees is gathered by poor families in Haiti and used to make these cards. This makes a source of income for them. What a great idea!

That's amazing!! Did you know that if you put a banana peel on top of your bee frames in the hive - all the bees will leave? Not for good but for awhile so we can work the hive.
"Turns out bananas contain a compound called isoamyl acetate (also known as isopentyl acetate) – the very same as that which is in honeybees’ alarm pheromone."
They also say it's best not to eat a banana before going to work the hives.....the bees can smell it on your breath!

I have a banana every single day for breakfast Ginny with a multi vit,1 zinc tablet and 2 d3 tablet, all to help with the immune system.
In case I don't get to post until after the holiday, enjoy your Christmas.

Beautiful cards with a great story attached to them. I love bananas, but when you have diabetes like I do, it's best to eat them before the get more than a little bit ripe.

Gary and I both eat one banana a day. Maybe it would be better to eat 2 a day... something to ponder. Thanks for the info. Glad you enjoyed the card :-)

A beautiful card! I knew bananas were good for you, but I did not know all of these reasons. I enjoy one every morning for breakfast.

Oh Yes, I have a couple of these banana bark Christmas cards. They are so creative. They were sent to me when I donated to their organization. I didn't realize the health benefits of bananas. I'll have to get more at the store next time. ; ) This card of the three wise men is so special.
