For The Birds

Today we happened to pass by this in someone's front yard.

We turned around to take a closer look.

It was an old dead tree with many holes that someone put roofs on and turned into birdhouses! What a great idea!

It had lots of different holes and nooks and crannies. Almost made me wish that we had a big old dead tree in our yard. The following pic shows just a few of the spaces the birds can use.

They had this little flag hanging beside it.

What a cool idea. I like that. There is a dead tree sitting right off my property line. I've always wished they would take it down but there it stands.

we both love dead trees and left our dead grapefruit tree there for years until a hurricane turned it over. never though of doing this. I love the tree and the fact they created bird houses. I am sure the birds love it too

this is a unique idea and the great thing is, that it is a huge benefit to the little birds. Glad you all turned around and captured this picture.

Now that's really clever. I do hope the birds take advantage of the homes.

Isn't that something! A giant bird tree house! That is so neat. I like the little flag hanging from it too. Your town should be voted "the most charming sights." I love this quote so much that I will write this one down. Thank you.
