In The Pink

It started like this.

And became this.

“You built your palace on the ocean deeps, made a chariot out of clouds and took off on wind-wings. You commandeered winds as messengers, appointed fire and flame as ambassadors.”
Psalm 104

Preparing

The squirrels were going nuts today! Possibly eight on each street, running back and forth in a frenzy. They were like this all through the neighborhood. I had never seen them like this!

And then it hit me! It is to snow today, and they KNOW it! In much the same way animals can predict an earthquake. They were madly running around preparing for the snow storm!

He looks like he is praying to make it through the snow.

“Think of the fierce energy concentrated in an acorn! You bury it in the ground, and it explodes into an oak! Bury a sheep, and nothing happens but decay.” ~ George Bernard Shaw

Car Eating Dinosaur

I have spotted this bus several times. It is in the nearby city of Charlottesville, and I believe it is a city bus! The dinosaur clearly has a taste for cars.

"Dinosaurs may be extinct from the face of the planet, but they are alive and well in our imaginations."

Fun In The Sun

Phil and Jazz sharing a moment of sheer joy in the sun. I don't even remember what it was about because I was so busy snapping. Grandpa's gift is making the girls laugh.

“I want to sit down on my haunches and blink in a sunny spot under a sunny wall. I might muster up sufficient energy to fold my hands on my lap as looking more elegant, but afterwards I should want to sit absolutely still and just let the sunshine filter through my tired being.” ~Mabel Barnes-Grundy,

Sun Day: The Rays

“His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden.”

The Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets, that is. Like the old Hoosier ones. They used to even have flour mills, meat grinders, fold down ironing boards, and sliding out work surfaces. I came across these in an antique mall. I have always wanted one, but all of my kitchens have been too small. Do you have or want one? The real Hoosiers were mostly made in Indiana, and are hard to find now.

“God takes particular pleasure in acts of worship—a different kind of “sacrifice”—that take place in kitchen and workplace and on the streets.”
Hebrews 13

Mountain Music

Here in the Shenandoah Valley, we are bordered by the Blue Ridge Mountains in the east, and the Appalachian Mountains in the west. So you can only imagine the music that comes out of these hills. A local brewery had one of their outside wall painted in tribute to this. The corrugated wall was very challenging to the artist.

“I set your instructions to music and sing them as I walk this pilgrim way.”
Psalm 119
