Games People Play

I was going to post my resolutions today, but it would make this post too long, so they are for tomorrow. On New Year's eve, our family went out to dinner, and here is the beautiful sunset on the way to the restaraunt. When we came home we sat around the table and played games. What is this strange structure? It is Jenga Max. My good blog friend STEPHANIE posted about it a few days ago, and I just had to have it. It was even more fun than I had hoped. You carefully take turns hooking these blocks, and the whole thing can come crashing down if not done right. Anne was literally shaking with excitement at the prospect. You can see how much fun we all had. No pictures of me because I was the one snapping. Anne Marie was almost delirious with joy, she really wants to win. And she did win the first game. Here is something much better to win than a game.

"Let love and faithfullness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man."
Proverbs 3:3,4

I can see Anne is elated..appears very fun (I looked it up on youtube to get a better idea)- a good verse to remember too! Well, the simple things are the best sometimes- looks like a time well spent-

I have never heard of a jenga max. I'll have to ask my daughter-in-law about them. She teaches kindergarten and may be familiar with them.

Love the look of elation on little Anne's face. So resolutions for me, Ginny. However, I do plan to finish at least SOME of the things I've started over the years. That will make more room in my life for other things to explore.

I love that sunset in your header, that is a WOW shot Ginny.

The smile on Anne Marie's face tells the story, that was a fun game.

Today after church service on Resolution, I chatted with 3 eighty something ladies. They say they never make resolutions. Neither did I, I knew since when I was young, I never keep them.

Shall love to read yours.

This does look like a fun game, Ginny. I'll have to check into this. Anne Marie has the most beautiful smile! I can see why she brightens your day... as well as your life. Marissa gets that way too (shaking with excitement)... I just love the little ones. They are so innocent and excitable. I'm glad to see you had such a fun time.

When young children love the game it's fun for me as well! When they are older they sit and play games on the computer or tv and I don't enjoy those, lol! Love the photos Ginny - the sunset and the sunrise on your little one's face! Looking forward to your resolutions!

You have a big advantage on sunsets to photograph--you're in the Shenandoah Valley where they are magnificent. Of course, so is the photographer!!

I love the delight on Anne Marie's face while playing that game. It makes me want one--both the game and a granddaughter (or grandson) to play it with me.

Best,
Bonnie

Sounds like you all had a wonderful time together. I've never heard of that game, but sitting around playing games reminded me of our family years ago --when we played board games alot, and also worked jigsaw puzzles... We had a card table set up with a HARD jigsaw puzzle going... People took turns adding the pieces. SO much fun!!!!!

Anne Marie does look like she is having a GREAT time... Glad you all enjoyed your evening together. Where did you eat dinner?

Beautiful sunset.
Hugs,
Betsy

You can tell how much fun your littel grand daughter had - I can almost hear her laughing...I love playing boardgames and wish I had someone to play them with. I think sitting around the table and laying games as a family is so much healthier then everyone doing their individual video games...it's kind of sad how several people can be sitting in the same room together and being more disconnected than ever by staring at a computer!

I'm so happy to have contributed to your family fun. And Anne Marie's excitement. I'm not surprised she won - the no-fear factor works for the very young.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never
found any interesting article like yours. It's pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all website owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be a lot more useful than ever before.
