Turning six was done with lots of fun on Sunday when family all got together to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday. The birthday card we gave her was also a panda mask. And our gift was a digital camera, she LOVED the camera. Everyone tried out her Hula Hoop gift, but I was just not quick enough to catch Phil at it. Here you see her other grandmother mastering the dangerous neck maneuver. When I was a kid, I was Hula Hoop Queen, and my mom would yell at me. "Don't swing that thing around your neck; you'll break your neck!!!" No one yelled at anyone at this party for doing hoop tricks. But I could still hear my mom's voice in my head, and wanted to warn Anne that she might break her neck, it is hard to ignore a mom's warnings even after so many years. But I am no party poop!

It looks like Ann Marie had a wonderful birthday! She looks so happy and pretty in that beautiful dress. A camera for her sixth birthday...how cool! I can't wait to see some of her pics! Her cake is so cute! And I just love her Panda Bear mask. I've collected Panda Bears since I was a teen. My birthday is Thursday, April 5th. I guess Ann Marie and I have a couple of things in common. :) When I was her age I loved to hoola hoop, I'm sure she'll have a blast with it!

Oh what a beautiful cake!! Best wishes for the birthday girl..I have a nephew who's birthday is today too! Well I loved hoola hoops as well and yes, we never seem to forget our mom's words of warning!

Sweet....she is such a darling!!!! I love her hair cut too by the way...such a charming, perfect 'do' for Ann Marie if you want my opinion.
And the hula hoop....I can still work 'em. I have one. For exercising. Oh,.......and PURPLE icing on the cake. That's a perfect color.

the camera is a wonderful idea for a gift, she might grow up to be a photographer. like us. ha ha. she is absolutely beautiful, losing her baby look and getting her princess little girl look. the cake is fab, love the little cake on the cake and the castle look.

Looks like a great party. Our granddaughters were born only about a week apart. I never could master the hoola hoop!
Love this post, Ginny! Aren't you glad Anne Marie is interested in photography? I know I was when our Abby began taking pics and enjoying it. The hoola hoop brought back lots of memories . . . such as hoola hooping until we were sore the next day! Those were the days!

To answer your questions: The Baker bought a black Volvo. I'm really happy for him since it was his turn for a new car. I drive a wine red CRV thus the name "Cerise". We both keep cars for a very long time. Hmm, my next one is due in 2014!! I'm thinking a light gray Rolls Royce!! I'll take you for a ride.

I still try now and again with one I have in the garage. Up until I put on my last 10 lb. about 2 yrs. ago, I was still able to keep it going.. hha. So how did Phil do?
