The Fingerlings

We saw this in the yard where a local artist had stored some discarded works. The place is usually kept locked, but was not this time. So we snuck in. I think snuck is not a word, but that is what we did.

Mark Kline has more talent in his little finger than most people have in their entire hand...

“At that very moment, the fingers of a human hand appeared and began writing on the lamp-illumined, whitewashed wall of the palace. When the king saw the disembodied hand writing away, he went white as a ghost, scared out of his wits.”

Great find. Looks like each finger has its own face.

How lucky that you were able to sneek in and take a look around. The detail in the hand is quite amazing and the faces all look either sad or haunted.

This so makes me think of Lorelei's mom...when her mom was still in a carseat, but up big enough to talk....she would sit back there and have her thumbs carrying on a conversation with each other!

I'm not sure of my feelings about this piece. It is almost scary in some ways.
