Arabian Knights

Last week, we passed by these lilies a few blocks away. I had never seen any this color. The darker color is not black, it is dark blue. I think they may be a variety called Arabian Knights.

I am going way out to the tip of the end of a limb and saying what I really think. I think this is one of the ugliest flowers I've ever seen and it looks to me like it is man-made not God made. Your photos are spectacular but I do not like the flower at all

I like these lilies because they are unusual. I don't think I have ever seen that color combo before.
Thanks for sharing.

Stunning! Those of you who would like a particular variety, contact your local Hemerocallis Society. Easy to hybrid, over 40,000 types of daylily have been developed, many by hobbyists. My favorites are Gay Troubador, which sports gigantic red flowers striped with yellow, and a scented(!)lemon yellow given to me by my mom years ago.
