The Colors

 We finally have some color!

Ah, yes, autumn, when the trees blush at the thought of stripping naked in public.

Beautiful color. It's such a glorious time of year.

Our colour has been later this year as well. We also had a big storm that knocked down quite a few large trees and branches not to mention that the streets were covered with leaves that had been blown down so our colour has been quite subdued this year.

Oh Ginny, the colors are beautiful. This is the first Autumn here in the mountains, and it's so pretty also. I see much of the golds and oranges, but I really miss the reds that I'm used to. And I see you have some reds. That picture of the road is so charming. I love road pictures. That is the most delightful quote too. Happy Autumn week to you.

Ah! The calico colors! They look to be at perfection right now! We haven't all that much color yet but it will come in the next week, I believe -- except we are predicted to have an overwarm week, and dry, which may delay the show. xoxo

Ginny, Mia and Francesca live in So Cal, and I live in Northern Cal, but I did have the pleasure of watching Mia once a week when I lived there for eight months. Since then, I moved to the mountains, and that's a place I've always wanted to live in my later years. I have three friends who live in northern Cal, and their grandkids live in So. Cal, so we have to see the little ones when we can, and we all have that in common.

I wondered what the orange mark is on the tree too. Maybe they marked it for cutting it down - too old or too much of a fire hazard. I wish I knew, and if I ever find out, I'll surely let you know. : )
