Lost

The Mennonite owned Cheese Shop

Out in the country

This doesn't look like Day Care, I think we're lost!

Ella wanted to show us how fast she can run in the big Day Care yard

She wants to show you what we passed by!

Two little horse statues pulling a cart

See you later!
Today we needed to pick up Miss Ella from Daycare. We had only been there about twice before, and it is out in the country, in a different city. At this point, I need to use the L word that most men hate their wives to utter. We may have gotten just a bit, er... LOST. The trip started out great, with a stop at the Cheese Shop on the way. They sell fresh eggs from the Amish farm down the road, and we bought several dozen. But then, with eggs safely in hand and back on the road, we somehow seemed to...lose our way. Lots of cornfields and barns, no Daycare. Fortunately it only involved turning around and looking closer at house numbers. Ella was delighted to see us and wanted to show us how fast she could run. And on the way home, we passed this little horse and cart fruit stand. She was so charmed that we just had to stop and let her get out. Why is she not smiling in the last photo? She was unable to pet the horse statues because there were grasshoppers jumping all around them, which she informed me would make a great meal for a praying mantis. So today, being lost wasn't such a bad thing after all. It's so easy to get lost in so many different ways. But when we do, we know there is one who will always come looking for us.
"I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice."
Ezekiel 34:16

I LOVE the Cheese Shop. I usually walk out with three or more bags full of things other than cheese. It's my stock up place when I come. I also love the photo of Ella pointing, with the country road, farm field and mountains in the background.

Best,
Bonnie

Ella is adorable. Don't you know it felt good to run around in all that wide, open space?! The fresh eggs will be a special treat. You live in a lovely area. I hope you enjoy the weekend.

Is there an honesty box in the cart.

Ginny,

I have to have word verification on my photo site. Some one has been spamming couple of my posts.

Sorry for inconvenience,

Have a good weekend.

Ginny, what a wonderful feeling it is when you are lost and suddenly you "see" or realize where you are! I once was lost but now I'm found. Yes, I'm like most other men and have learned to say - "Noooo - I'm not lost. I'm just bewildered!"

We have a lot of critters around here that would be good meals for the praying mantis as well. Ella is an adorable and extremely smart little girl. What a fun day!

I love Ella. She is so adorable. Glad you finally got there. But the fun thing about getting lost is you see all those things you were never expecting to see that day.

Hi There, You all need a Garmin!!!!!! It's fun to get lost --while driving in the country.. We do that ALOT... But--we just ask our GPS to take us HOME (or wherever we are going). Miss Barbeak is wonderful to help us out at times!!!! Of course, she sometimes has us going on roads which are not roads any longer too!!!! ha

Hope you bought me some CHEESE at the Cheese Shop... Both George and I LOVE cheese --almost all kinds.. YUM!!!!!

Little Ella is so adorable... Looks like she had a great time, despite the grasshoppers.

Have a wonderful day.
Hugs,
Betsy

I am with her, no walking through jumping grass hoppers for me. i wonder how she knew praying mantis would eat them or if they do:? now i iwll have to google that too.
would love to have some of that cheese from the cheese shop.

Enjoyed getting lost in your photos and words. Funny how grandchildren help us take the time for new discoveries.

What a dear, Ginny. Love the countryside. When we travel back East (hopefully next year) I want to spend a lot of time back there.

You might have been lost for a time, but the day certainly ended well. We've had some Amish cheese and it was absolutely delicious.

Well if a child must go off to day care- too bad they couldn't all be like this (lol) wow- what a scene!! I'd love to run through that grass myself- that was good (the L word) my husband is really good about finding his way out of anyplace- not me..my dad use to get lost all the time! Wonder if its hereditary? (Smile)

We seem to get . . . lost . . . often, too! I think the countryside is the best way to "wander around"! Your spiritual analogy is right on! And Ella is so sweet and full of energy!

Such beautiful farm country. I think having a day care there would be wonderful.

The cheese shop sounds like a great place to visit, I wish I could find a good source of farm fresh eggs here.

Any kind of horse, real or not, is like a magnet to a little girl. Ella is right, the praying mantis in my yard would love to have more grasshoppers.
