Perhaps at the end of a long hot summer, you would enjoy some snow from around my area: deep in the valley of The Blue Ridge Mountains. The mountains have their own special beauty in every season. But what else is it we have here? Last winter, we found all these strange markings on top of our dumpster. Can you guess what they are? Well, they are bird footprints. I thought it was very cool, and could not imagine what the birds were doing on there, but only their tracks remained. I have very full days on Monday and Tuesday, so will be taking a two day break from posting and commenting. See you on Wednesday!!!
"Your path led through the sea,
your way through the mighty waters,
though your footprints were not seen.
You led your people like a flock
by the hand of Moses and Aaron."
Psalm 77:19,20

The sight of snow already startled me! It certainly is pretty but I hope we don't have any for awhile yet.
Your header photo startled me a bit too, I knew it was too early for snow.
Those tracks make it look like the birds were having a dance. They must have had a great time.
See you Wednesday!
Just amazing pics Ginny! The header shot is especially pleasing, loved it...
Enjoy your mini break.
Hope you have a good time:)
For a moment you had me thinking you're having snowstorms already! Phew. I'm not at all looking forward to that time of year. As for the bird footprints, our bigger birds like crows and magpies and pigeons and gulls are always hanging around those. They're not stupid, they know there is food in there!
Oh.. the birds' prints.. for a moment, i was wondering what they were..
I feel cooler already, our high yesterday was 98 so needed this snow for sure. enjoy your days off, love the header shot
That is so lovely and snow is something we seldom recieve but got a lot last winter, I hope its a repeater.
The tracks, what ever bird it was, it hops.
Have a bless Sunday and days away from the computer.
Ginny, I so love your header photo! I would love to be in Tennessee one more time when it snows.
I think snow is beautiful but I Love Hot weather....Tracks yep
We're enjoying a hot spell and hope the snow doesn't fly until Christmas - I know, I know - that's unrealistic, lol! Love seeing those bird tracks - busy little guy walking around and then taking to flight! Have a great week-end and enjoy your days off!
The snow sure makes me think cool and I like that.Have a fabulous weekend.
I thought for a second there that you had snow on your mountains - right now! Whew!
That looks like a a good place for birds to dance. I was reminded of those old floor charts of footprints that helped you learn new dance steps.
Oh, I forgot my boots, now I have chilblains.
Loved your "snowbreak post. Hope your break for busy-ness is rewarding. Will be here when you get back. Enjoy!
It has been a long time since I've seen snow-covered valley and mountains. In fact, the last time was 1987!!
Best,
Bonnie
From the tracks, it appears it was a big bird. I love to photograph this kind of scenario, but, alas I don't get "snow" pictures! Oh how I wish I could. Thank you for your concern, I am just fine now. Must have been a touch of a bug going around. Was just "off" and tired for a few days. Your sweet caring is lovely Ginny. See you back here in a few days. Blessings,
Lynn
Snow on mountain tops is always very pretty! I just hope it stays on mountaisn tops and doesn't come down to the city streets too often this winter ;)
This is beautiful...those simple little tracks shows a bird walked there. How many footprints have each of us left behind as a reminder of our journey? Then through the sea...no footprints, because they were leaving, never to return. Hugs to you Ginny sweet lady. xx
Ginny, I'm glad you told me that white stuff is snow. The last time it snowed in Long Beach, California was 1949 :-)
Beautiful mountains! Have a productive and safe couple of days, Ginny. See you Wednesday..
That looked nice and cold! Have a good two days off! sandie
Phew! I thought your area had skipped fall and went straight into winter! It always makes me smile when I see animal tracks in the snow in our back yard!
Blessings, Joanne
Breathtaking photos Ginny. I'm looking forward to visiting the mountains, hopefully this year. Have a pleasant couple of days off.
The verse is pretty..gee, I'm going to be looking at snow again! How pretty..have always heard of them. Those prints look like a runway (ha ha)..see you then-
I am not excited about winter - it's my least favorite season!
I feel a little cooler already looking at that snow. What a cool design those birds made.
As nice as that looks though, I'm not looking forward to seeing it for real
Is that a turkey foot print?
Enjoy your week!
xxoo

What beautiful pictures and the thought of snow already is hard to believe while I still need the air on here.
And Yes, your picture of snow did make me feel a bit cooler tonight. :-)
Hi Ginny...glad to be here...
That snow is so refreshing..just looking at it cools me down...Great pictures...Wish we had some of that snow right now...
Blessings,
shug
I was close, close to say "What" snow already. Good job I read on, the bird tracks are neat. Yesterday at the beach we saw pipping plovers and their little itty bitty footy prints are oh so tiny. Glad to have found you, love your photos
