In The Bleak Midwinter

I miss the flowers and birds. The colors and smells of the flowers. In the midwinter, it seems everything is all grey. I want flowers, and I want them to be pink. Enjoy the local Azaleas.

In the bleak mid-winter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak mid-winter
Long ago.

Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him
Nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away
When He comes to reign:
In the bleak mid-winter
A stable-place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty,
Jesus Christ.

Absolutely beautiful. I'm the same way. This time of year I start craving color. Thanks for a hearty dose of pink.

Blazing Hot Pink Azaleas like the first two photos were my mothers favorite flowers in her yard, she had these bushes on 3 sides of her house. taller than the average person... this bright pink was her favorite color, she had 2 dresses in this color and many prints with these colors in her closet. love he header shot, sunshine makes them even more beautiful. nothing beats God's crayon box for sure.. and your camera to capture it.

The azaleas are beautiful. Their color is what is needed on a bleak wintry day.

I wish I could send you some of my pink camillas to brighten your day. I am seeing some buds on the fruit trees trying to swell . It won't be long until a few blossoms will appear. Our winter is so mild this year and little rain so I don't know what is going to happen.
There have been lots of little wrens and Phoebes flitting around...I think the nesting hormones are becoming activated.
Life certainly does a 360* around here.

I'll take pink flowers as well. Actually almost any color would do, but these are especially pretty.

I must be a really odd duck but I do love winter. Gray skies, cold rain, it doesn’t seem to bother me. Cozy weather. Maybe because in Texas we don’t get very much winter.....I don’t know but I seem to love all weather except intense heat! And we do get a lot of that!

Love, love, love azaleas, especially pink. Just saw a few blooms at a house we passed Sunday. In our climate we have color even in the coldest months, which are rarely below freezing. Winter color comes in pinks, reds and white camellias, and purples, yellows in pansies and flowers in landscaped yards that I haven't yet learned their names. And absence of those freezing temps, I don't know how those unfamiliar plants will fare. And they aren't even close to the vibrant colors of the old favorites.
