The Harpy

We watched a nature show on PBS about the Harpy Eagle, which lives in Central & South America. It is the biggest and strongest eagle. So of course I had to take pictures of the T.V., because it impressed me so much.

Look at it's size beside this man!!

“For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind.

I have heard the word Harpy all my life because that's what they call women who act ugly and act like witches! And also they have harpies on Old building's. But I had no idea that there were real live harpies this is absolutely amazing and I loved photo number 3 and I thought what a beautiful ugly bird and then when I saw the size of it oh my amazing I'm so glad you posted these pictures.

That guy looks scary.
I saw one at our local zoo a few years ago.

Holy toledo!!!!!! That is one sizable eagle. I didn't thoroughly appreciate the size of it until the man was sitting next to it. Amazing!! Thank you for posting about this beautiful bird, Ginny. Love, Andrea xoxo

Thank you so much, for returning my visit, to your blog. And for leaving a comment.

You asked where I live. In the upper NE. Far away from the "Lost City" of NYC, thankfully.

Oh wow, such an incredible bird. I have seen photos of them but none that give the perspective of size. Thank you for sharing these Ginny. I hope they repeat that program sometime.

Amazing bird. I have done that too, taken pictures of the something that way. I love the look of the bird. Feel bad that it is not a free bird though. But stunning bird.

That is an amazing bird. I can see why they named them after the harpy - they look almost human in some of the photos. My son and I love birds of prey so we are looking for that documentary to find out more.
