Sisters Of The Moon

We came upon these flowers this evening, shortly before sunset.

They don't look like much all closed up in the daytime. But OH, when the moon rose...

That's when they opened up. They are Moonflowers, only showing their truest beauty in the dark. Maybe there's a lesson in that, too.

The rain barrell looked on and smiled.

We have those flowers here also. (I think I see an insect in the blossom?)

Pretty moon photos Ginny.

that quote is awesome and one I have not heard before. the night view of the moon flowers is amazing, they are like our nightblooming cactus that blooms only after dark. sadly we have no blooms this year, not even any possible buds. by this time of year it is usually full of them

You have conquered New Blogger! You blog title is big, as it should be. And a color, to go with your present photos. And the background you have, is a lovely, soft compliment, to your photos!

Sometimes, we as individuals only show our true beauty when it's dark all around us.

LOVE the quote Ginny!
And you know I LOVE your photography.
I grew Moonflowers in 2018. They are an amazing flower to open at night.

Hi Ginny, thanks for coming by faithfully to my blog, I have not feeling well since my vaccination and now I am slightly better. Will come by more often when I feel better... As usual your photos never fail to captivate me!

What beautiful flowers! I wonder the purpose of their blooming at night? Perhaps to feed nocturnal insects and animals?

Oh my, those white Moonflowers are interesting. Have never seen them before. They are so pretty when they open up. That rain barrel is delightful. There was a tree in my old town, and someone made a face just like this on the tree, and every time I passed it, it made me smile. : )
