Timber!

This afternoon, Phil heard a crash. Lookng out side window, I saw this.

The tree across the street had finally fallen. It had been leaning at a 50 degree angle for about a month. The neighbors were all worried that it would fall on their home or car. Now they were starting to gather and take pictures.

It fell, and did not hurt anything or anyone! Quickly, two city workers came out, as it had blocked the road.

.They took one look at it,and made a phone call. Shortly there were ELEVEN workers!

Then came the big trucks. They cleaned up what was in the road, and the homeowner has to take care of what is in his yard.

I am so very thankful for how this happened. It could have gone very wrong!

Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky,
We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.

What a relief that nothing is damaged and no one was hurt.

How lucky that it fell in that direction and that nothing was damaged. That was a fast response from the city workers.

Thankfully no one was hurt! Impressed that the city crew got out that fast. They always have their heavy work load with felled trees and so much more. You make a great photographer for your area Ginny. Any news station or paper would be very happy with your photos.

Thanks for your question on my quiz post. It is a Cholla Cactus, also called a Teddy Bear Cactus. The following page will show you many varieties but if you scroll down you will see this one.

is that red brick a house? or apartments. it is huge. this could have been a really bad thing, could have fallen on a car driving by, or a house or a person walking a dog. that sure was quick for them to clear it. beautiful old tree, sad it is gone but happy it did no damage

Wow, they were so fortunate. That could have been so awful. Its going to be an expensive clean up though. That tree is huge.
Glad everyone is safe.

Stupid, stupid, stupid people!!! When a tree is leaning like that, you call a tree company and you get it taken down immediately. That tree could have killed someone walking past!! I'd have a VERY hard time not giving those neighbors a piece of my mind, I tell ya. ~Andrea xoxoxo

In this condition, and no one took it down????

If it was owned by the home owner, and it did damage to anyone, they would be liable.

If it was on city property, then the city should have been alerted. The city would be liable for damage.

I just can't understand, how it stayed a danger, for so long....

But maybe I am not understanding something.

Grateful to hear no one was injured. Trees are beautiful, I like them in the forest and mountains. The Chinese Elm Trees my neighbors have just make me miserable with my allergies. We have pine trees, needles everywhere. I am not a fan of city trees. :-)

Thank you always for visiitng and being such a kind heart. You take the best photos. enjoy this Independence Day weekend.

Those workers sure came through to pick up and haul the fallen tree. So glad no one got hurt when the tree fell in the yard. It looks like you live in a nice neighborhood. Trees are such a special part of nature. They provide shade and a place to rest. Love the quote. : )

They were lucky - we have that around here too - one hit our neighbors house and they are still out of the house as it is being repaired! lol
