The Crossing

The Canada Geese are year round residents here. And during the day, they fly to different parts of town. This means a whole lot of street crossings and stopped traffic. I have many more pics than these, but it gives you an idea.

These is usually a watcher who is appointed crossing guard. But really, they don't seem to care if there are cars coming or not. And their waddle is very slow.

In the golden light of the evening.

Question: Why did the goose cross the road?

Answer: Because the chicken was on vacation.

I won't dare to imagine if they are found crossing our roads here especially on busy roads with traffic zooming past. I like the quote about the chicken going on vacation.

Ha ha on vacation! And I love the last one with one of them sitting down or laying down or crouched down in the middle of the street while the others walk on the double yellow line. They're beautiful in that golden light. I think I'm back it's slow to talk to the desktop slower than I type but it is working

That is a lot of geese. It reminds me of one of the Walmarts near me. They have a pond just before you get to their parking lot and the geese are always congregating there.

I like the first shot of them in the pedestrian crosswalk.
I think geese are beautiful but that many in one spot can sure make a mess and they can be agressive too.

Your Header is so lovely with the geese and the red flowers, Ginny. I really do love the geese. They are such pretty birds with long necks. They are protective with their family. And their Honk is LOUD! I hear them sometimes fly over my house, and you can tell its them by their distinctive call. How funny to see so many of them in your area, even crossing the streets like they are part of the community. ; )

Have a blessed week, Ginny.

Cute post! Oh Ginny, the Tillamook ice cream is so delicious. We love the White Chocolate Raspberry with berry pie and peach just by itself. It is more a summer treat but I LOVE it. I hope your week is wonderful. Love your header too.

We've got some here too, in certain places! They are fearless! It's so funny how they go right out into a busy road. Until it's not. (Funny, that is) xoxo

You are so lucky - I wish we had them here. I love things like that.

When traffic shuts down to slow or stop it is because of the geese crossing the road. A city of 70,000 just stops and waits. Better than hitting geese.

Loved the joke and your photos were fun. We were at a traffic light a while back and the Canada Geese waited for the red light, and then they crossed over. I wandered, have they learned how to do that or was it just a coincidence. It was very comical to see.
