Corny

A few nights ago, I took these pictures of the full corn moon. It is named this because this is the month when corn is usually harvested. But in two out of three years, it is also the Harvest Moon!

"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
Galatians 6

I've never heard of a full corn moon. But I love when the moon is full and so bright and shiny.

Before I came across your blog I'd never heard of all these different moon-names depending on time of year etc. And even my 'new' camera is not good enough to get a really good picture of the moon, like yours.

Harvest moon reminds me of Laurel & Hardy..the moon is pretty. Who would of thought corn would be used for ethanol..more than livestock? It's in so many different things though. I should grow some, hmm..

Harvest Moon makes me think of fall leaves, pumpkins and apple cider. It also reminds me of an old song, Shine on Harvest Moon.

Great shot Ginny, that ear of corn looks ready.

The full corn moon you speak of... hum we had an evening here was ghostly, everything glowed yellow. The next day I was told it was Northern Lights shining on through. "Harvest Moon" sounds old school

I am constantly amazed at the good moon shots you and others are getting. I guess I need to try more often.

Lovely moon shots - makes one want a telescope - it makes one think of a naval orange and the lines look like sections. I for one would like to see the "naval" a little closer!

I always thought the first full moon in October was the harvest moon. ???

There is nothing like fresh corn on the cob, right out of the field. My mouth is watering.

Harvest Moon . . . reminds me of cooler weather, fall decorations, the sound of the drying cornstalks rustling in the breeze . . .

Great scripture!
