Not Scared

There are still plenty of scarecrows around here. You have never seen scarecrows till you have been around our neighborhood! Every block seems to have several, plus most of the public buildings. But here I have only included ones I think are different or are my favorites. Notice the scarecrow face on the rake in picture 5? Which one is your favorite? Of course they are just for decoration, they do not scare the birds at all. And here is something we don't have to be scared of, either.

"Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it's logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil's hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death."

A lot of work has gone into making these scarecrows. Thankfully they don't look scary.

I've seen a few more scarecrows here this year but nothing like the amount in your neighborhood. That's a lot of scarecrows. I like the next to last one best.

they are all happy happy looking and my favorite is the flag. really happy on that flag. these look nothing like daddys scarecrow that stood in the garden, his was ugly and scary but it did not scare the birds away either. we have half a dozen houses on our street that sprouted Christmas lights over the TG week end.

Slowly, our neighborhood is decorating for Christmas but I did enjoy the Autumn scarecrows very much.

Folks around here seem to decorate as much for Halloween as for Christmas. You are right--those scarecrows aren't going to scare anything/anybody!

Best,
Bonnie

We don't have many scarecrows. Christmas lights have been going up since Thanksgiving. I really like the first pic of the flag. It reminds me of The Wizard of Oz. The fifth one down has a cute face on the rake. :)

In our country we don't have these rituals. Pity.

They have such fun smiles. I used to make scarecrows as craft items and always enjoyed watching their personalities take shape.

I'm not sure I ever saw a scarecrow other than in pictures or movies! The ones I find most scary are the green one and the last one (which seems to have dropped its head). I think I like the second one best.

try this again. I got an error the first time. Second to last one is my favorite. Love the cute little pig tails

You've got some wonderful scarecrows in your neighborhood. We had a couple at our house through Thanksgiving, but they are now put away and being replaced with Christmas trees.

Hi Ginny, I think these Scarecrows are unique and quite special. Each reflects the artist who constructed it. I like the Scarecrows a lot. I may or may not construct one here on the farm next Fall. Who can say? Have an excellent evening tonight and a great Wednesday tomorrow!

Your scarecows are wonderful, such a lot of expressions and talents. I love to eat pumpkin, ours are green, yours are orange and I am unsure whether edible?
I used to be scared of death...but not anymore. I believe as Christians we cannot loose. We are here with Him or in Heaven with Him...
Yes, the devils hold is broken, and we all need the faith to believe that. God is Good.
Much love to you Ginny. xxxxxxx
