A man is a very
small thing, and the night is very large and full of wonders. ~Edward

This weekend was the Super Moon! What that means is that it was as close to the earth as it can be. This is called Perigee. Next will come filigree and Pedigree...no, just kidding! But it was much bigger and brighter than usual. These pictures are from both Saturday and Sunday, because I wanted to allow an extra day if there were too many clouds. On Saturday there were, but tonight was better.
“I look up at your macro-skies, dark
and enormous, your handmade sky-jewelry,
Moon and stars mounted in
their settings. Then I look at my micro-self and wonder, Why do you bother with
us? Why take a second look our way?”
Psalm 8

Oh wow, you got some great photos Ginny. That moon looks huge. We had hoped to see it but it was cloudy Saturday night and raining Sunday when the moon rose.

You know what Ginny - my daughter read that it was the super moon today - she asked me what it was - I said just a minute - looked you up and here it is - I knew you'd tell us all about it - so I told her. Love it. Sandie

Super pictures of the super moon. I couldn't capture any given the inclement weather conditions.
Yes, our little micro-selves, why does our heavenly Father bother with us? Awesome that HE does though. Such beautiful lights HE made - sun and moon and stars - like jewelery! Love your photos!

Hi Ginny, I was thinking of you last night as I tried to snap a few pictures of the Super Moon. You have outdone yourself with this series. Excellent! Have a wonderful coming week.

You are a poet. Yes, a super moon to pull on us. Gorgeous shots of the moon.
I knew that I could count on you to get some good pictures of the super moon. Those are fantastic
I saw it last night, there was too much cloud cover the night before. You took some great photos.
Gorgeous pictures of the moon! The colors of sky looks amazing, too...especially the dark blue color!
About my kitty who caught lizard tail, it took two people ( my husband and me) to let him release it. I don't know how we managed to do it though...it was a chaotic moment!
Amazing! We can always count on you for the beautiful moon photos. :)
We got to enjoy it Saturday night, it was very beautiful.

Outstanding photos! I can not believe I missed this moon. Where was I? What could I have been doing to miss this ? Thankful for blogging friends have shared their photos. Btw.... Those things on my header photo are seeds from a cypress tree.
Have a great day Ginny
