The Fish

Down the street from the Y is a garage/convenience store. This is where the artists painted their second wall. They are very talented, but I just don't like these big old fish on a garage door. Hmmm, perhaps they sell live bait, there is a lot of fishing around here. I think a painting of old cars would be better. How about you?

I would prefer the painting of the fish with the bait in its mouth.

Yes, they kind of look like Franken-fish, don't they. But the folks who painted them did a wonderful job, that's for sure. ~Andrea xoxo

I guess I'm the oddball...I DO like the fish. But, then again, a scene of a 1950's mechanic, working on a car, would be good too.

It's very well done but not necessarily something I would like. I would be more drawn to a painting of old cars.

I, too, would like an old car. But I can see having these done if you like fishing...actually looks like someone likes flyfishing.

The art itself is great but they look kind of creepy to me.

I know what you mean but I am not into fishing. Cars would be nice but I also like to see those historical murals on walls that say something about the town's history. If this is a person's business or even hobby, then that would explain it. I do think the artist is very talented.

I agree that, if you're doing a mural for a business, the artwork should reflect the type of business in the building. Unless they've converted the garage into a bait and tackle shop it just doesn't quite fit the rest of the scenery.

An antique pickup truck with a black Lab in the back would have been perfect.

I actually like the fish. The artist is quite good.

Hi Ginny,
I like the fish Ginny, it looks like an aquarium. :-)

Yes, my mom painted the Halloween cat in my post. Thank you Ginny for visiting me.
Love, Carla

Sorry to delete those... I couldn't spell evidently.... I love the fish paintings. My grandfather would have wanted one because he loved to fish and he loved extravagant decor... I got my mug rack at Hobby Lobby... they may not have them online now but I searched for metal mug holder or rack... several came up. Mine is heavy duty and shorter... hope you find one you love!

I guess the man who painted them works in a garage - his heart is in fishing.

It is well done. I would choose flowers, but then that's just how I am.

I like them. The important thing is the business owner decides. Thanks for the pictures!

I agree! Old cars, or tools, or something garage related would be better! Unless the garage is full of fishing equipment!

I like the fish but you're right, Ginny ... classic cars would better~ xoxo

I would have chosen a different subject......BUT, my husband would love this. Of course, he loves fishing...

They are cool paintings, but I agree that old cars would be better!

I like fish art in general and that’s a gorgeous painting. Though, I prefer less realistic, more cartoonish design :-)

I like the fish! I am thinking that maybe the person that owns that garage is a fisherman or maybe he's even the artist. He's very talented whoever painted it or she. If it were me I would put something related to cars but it's a man I'm betting and they always do what they think the most about

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
