A Brand New Life

"Pay close attention now: I'm creating new heavens and a new earth. All the earlier troubles, chaos, and pain are things of the past, to be forgotten. Look ahead with joy. Anticipate what I'm creating..."
Isaiah 54

On this trip, I was anticipating  visiting the shop of Ruth Hamner and seeing what she had created. I don't think I have ever posted this many pictures at once! But I couldn't help myself, all her creations were beautiful. I actually had to remove many other pictures to get it down to this number. It felt like a whole other world in her shop, whimsy and beauty everywhere!!! Her name is Ruth L. Hamner, and her shop is called Ruthie's Rembrandt's. She collects very old antiques, and gives them a new life. Her slogan is "If it's not moving, paint it!" She paints every and anything, including furniture, tools, canes, and hard hats. My last picture shows her in one of her mirrors. I did not buy anything, because it was all pretty expensive. But I'm thinking of returning and getting something small. Since I'm so clumsy, maybe the hard hat in my header. A header for the head. Ya think?

"Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven-and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The day is coming when you'll have it all-life healed and whole."
1 Peter 1:2,4

I love her creative approach to updating antiques. Those little stools are so cute especially the way they are display in the shelves. I can see why you posted so many photos, I would have done the same because I would have had a hard time choosing. Each piece is interesting.

That hard hat is so cute!

Go for that hard hat! I love it all. Is the shop near you? It's kind of like being in the kind of shop that a Cirque du soleil performer would shop in.

Best,
Bonnie

WOW! did you happen to see the Mad Hatter running through the store? That is one fun place. I like seeing all the ways to decorate up old furniture. I would love to do just one room in my house fun and funky.

Hope your day is good!

Fannnnn-tastic!!! What a glorious, colorful, whimsical, and fun post today Ginny. How fun. And I loved your 'journey' share below this one also...the beautiful Autumn Foliage.

I feel I must apologize for not stopping by recently. I've actually been busy doing nothing. Just one of those weeks I guess. And computer time has been almost nil for visiting friends. So, just wanted to stop by today to leave a big TEXAS HOWDY!!

A lot of time and thought has gone into these things. The love she has for what she does, shows through.

I loved the bold and contrasting colors. Ruth has created (or is that re-created?) many beautiful items. All the paint and decorations reminds me of something I learned long ago from a car salesman - "A little putty and a little paint, makes 'em look like what they ain't!"

I love it all!!! And I want one of those footstools. Wonder if I could order one. Hmmmmm.

BTW ... I played that hymn on Sunday. Went over very well. :)

I so want the table and the 'girl' chairs. I don't know how to play backgammon but I think I could learn with such a beautiful table to play on.

I'd love to browse that shop! And I could use a pink hammer, too. Maybe if I had one, the hubby would leave it alone and I could find it when I needed it!

that's the fanciest hard hat I've ever seen. That sure looks like a fun shop to browse in. Such cute things.

What a delightful find this shop was. Love how she made such cute whimsical new creations from old more than likely dark antiques. Sort of Mary Englebreit style on some. Really cute things. Those little footstools are darling. Do you remember the price on those? Just curious. Personally, I think you are to beautiful to use the hard hat. Perhaps a functional but very pretty item she decorated would work. Wonder if she has a website, think I will check this out. Thank you Ginny, you find the neatest things to share with us.
