Dark Shadows

"A pessimist sees only the dark side of the clouds, and mopes; a philosopher sees both sides, and shrugs; an optimist doesn't see the clouds at all - he's walking on them."  ~Leonard Louis Levinson

Tonight was the Super Moon, when it is at it's closest to earth, and here are my pictures.  It started out fine, but was soon obscured on and off by clouds! I took the second picture because I like the look of the streetlight beside the distant moon. And now I will tell you a secret, just between you and me. These were taken the evening before the Super Moon, last night. They were insurance, because I feared the weather would be too bad tonight, and it was. It rained all evening. So I am glad for my clouds now!

“The Chief Priest tried again, this time asking, "Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed?"
Jesus said, "Yes, I am, and you'll see it yourself:
 The Son of Man seated
At the right hand of the Mighty One,
Arriving on the clouds of heaven."
Mark 14

You got some fantastic shots of the supermoon Ginny. We also had clouds and I never did see the whole moon.

it sure looks like a super moon in the last shot and the header shot. beautiful. dark nights with moons like this are spooky to me, i don't do dark or dark shadows. i like bright light and sunshine. i do look at the moon in the early am but not at night, at 4 am today our back yard was lit up like daylight from it, could see the bottom of the pool. bob was with me of course.

I am so excited - Andy was telling us about the super moon and that it won't be that large again in our life time - You know what this means Ginny - he is listening at school! lol

Very beautiful shots - God is a great artist.

I depend on you, Ginny, to record and share these celestial events. We had heavy cloud cover the night of and the night before. And I am going to have to save that quote! Thanks!

Lovely super moon. I tried to get pictures of it last night. I haven't looked at them yet but I don't think they came out too good.
