The Lights Of Covid

As the darkness and fear of the Covid virus continues to spread, people are being urged to put their Christmas lights up. It has kind of taken the internet by storm. To try and spread some cheer, and see some light at the end of a very dark tunnel. Here is our neighborhood, are there any in yours?

We don't have much of a neighborhood... only 12 houses out here. But none of them have any Christmas lights up. They're ALL fuddy-duddies!! Maybe I'll put up my tree this coming weekend. I'm always up for Christmas decorations! Thanks for the idea, Ginny. Are you going to put up some lights too? ~Andrea xoxo

What a good idea, cheering and brightening up the neighbourhood with lights in the darkness! Stay safe and take care, Ginny!

My porch area is lighted up every night and our streets are also lighted up with street lights. The colourful Christmas lights would look beautiful and give a festive feel.

We had a few people put some up back in the spring but not so much now. I’ve seen a few houses with electric candles in the windows and it looks so pretty.

I haven't seen any Christmas lights up around here. There is a house downt he street that has Halloween lights though. They have spotlights and those Halloween projector type lights that shine an image on the side of the house.

There is one house in our neighborhood that has their house exterior lighted up for different holidays/occasions. For instance, green for st. patricks, red for valentine's...next month everything will be pink for cancer awareness. I like this idea, maybe I can convince Bud to get some put up

no lights out here yet. the only ones i see are our nook lights, they are on all year. our neighborhoods are dark, except for 4 houses that have blue lights and 2 that have green lights. they are green or blue light bulbs on the porch lights

I have been thinking about doing this and I didn't even know it was a thing!

I have not seen anything about putting Christmas lights up and I have not seen any up when I have been out and about, but I think that it is a wonderful idea! The Christmas spirit needs to be in the heart of all of us at this point and time in our history.

Oh wow, great idea! I hadn't heard about that and haven't noticed anything in my neighborhood yet either, then again I'm not usually out and about after dark. I'll have pay closer attention. Have you put any up?

"It has taken the internet by storm."

Hmmmmmmmm, this is the first I have seen this. Soooo, guess that proves, I am "little on" the internet. ~grin~

I get the idea behind it.

But...

With me, you KNOW there will always be a *but*... ~grin~

Won't this dilute the effect of Christmas Lighting? By having it up so early? You know how everyone *hates* seeing Christmas decorations, up early...

Won't this, do the same thing?

My choice is to do Holiday decorating, according to the Holiday.

This way, I will be tired of Autumn decorating, by the time, it's time for Christmas decorating! ~smile~ And maybe, I'm not the only one.

But!!!!! Now!!!!! We can put up Autumnal and Halloween faerie lights, outside!!!!!!!! I'm not fond of Orange, but it would still be _lights_...

Possible???????

No Christmas lights here YET. I have Party lights in my back yard that I keep up all year round. LOVE lights and I so enjoy sitting out in our backyard when it is all lit up.

Haven't seen anything like that around here either. A lot of people have blue lights on their porch or at the garage for Law Enforcement...We do too.

People around here don't seem to be frightened, but we do wear masks and do social distancing.

I have not seen anything about putting Christmas lights up but it's not a bad idea! Why not bring cheer!

We are seeing neighbors decorate for Halloween. Lots of pumpkins and the big blow up figures. It is fun! Our daughter keeps lights on the china hutch downstairs so when it is dark it looks so pretty. The lights are white and they look pretty. Lights are cheerful and bring hope. I will keep my light on for Jesus. Watching for His return. HUGS across the miles XO XO

I used to love to drive around and see lights on in homes, in the quiet of the night. I can not night drive yet, need cataract surgery ...when it's done, I will be driving to see those lights. Blessings, keep a light on. :):) xoxo, Susie

Well that certainly explains all the porches around our neighborhood with pretty strings of white lights on them. I thought just another COVID-19 craze, like stuffed animals in the windows (mine are on the front porch chair).

OK, so it IS a COVID-19 thing, and also very nice.

I have noticed you commenting on Big Boy's blog, and just hopped over to see ya'. Glad I did.
