Feeding The Birds

This post is dedicated to my friend Betsy over at Joyful Reflections. Betsy loves birds just as much as I do, and she loves to feed them. She has many feeders of different types and gives the birds a banquet all the time. It is a lucky bird indeed who happens upon her yard. Isn't this little tree ornament cute? It's a cardinal on a feeder with real bird seed in it, and the whole thing is only about two or three inches in size. Our friend Susie brought a lot of these to church with her last Sunday, and gave one to each member of the Sunday School class! She made them herself!! What a special surprise! Looks like the birds are now being fed well by at least two houses.

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? Matthew 6:26,27

Hi Ginny. What fun! I love to crochet but working on such a small scale defeats me. Becky's work and the ornament project is so nice. I'm guessing that there were lots of happy oohs and aahs last Sunday.

Your red page is soo pretty! Its slightly hard to read cause of the fonts but I understand that. Well I checked out her link- I'm amazed at the many feeders and birds that are attracted and photographed! I just saw one posted on a blog this week..snowy and beautiful!
My Grandma and Mom would always have little bird ornaments on the tree. Some people are so fortunate to have such a variety! Great link Ginny-those Cranes remind me of geese too-

What a cute feeder and a talented friend you have to make it for you. Betsy has a wide variety of birds in her yard and I always enjoy her photos too. This is a beautiful Bible verse today Ginny. Enjoy your day.

What a lovely gift. I love looking at the birds outside our windows as well. I love the picture in your header. Cardinals are such a joy to see in the winter against all the white snow and brown/black branches.
Prayer shawls are worn by Jewish men but mine is nowhere near that elaborate. I was raised Catholic and tried going back to it a while ago but did not continue. Honestly, I have a very hard time finding a church I go to on a regular basis. I am like a lady without a church.

The little ornament is adorable, Susie is very talented. Betsy is going to love your post and your header photo too. That cardinal peeking through the branches is so pretty.

Yeah, Betsy will like that. That took quiet a bit of work to make that. It is really cute.

Perfect "ornament" to nestle in a tree. I'm always amazed at the creations that some people can make. I am not at all crafty--and I've tried many things. My talent lies in the enjoyment of what others make.

Best,
Bonnie

That is a cute little ornament. Years ago I made a ton of plastic canvas ornaments and that's what my tree was decorated with for years.

This is a beautiful ornament. Susie did a wonderful job on this. I'll bet Betsy would have no problems finding room for it on our tree.

I really need to get out and fill my feeders before the ice and snow hit tomorrow... A Cooper's hawk flew in and perched on top of my feeder set up. He was hunting but this time they all got away... poor little birds didn't come back for two hours.

Loved the Christmas birds, the little church and the sleigh. But most of all your hilarious but on-target parody of "My Favorite Things" to accompany the CVS tree. Priceless!

This looks like a woolen knitted feeder. I am sure Betsy will fall in love in it.

I have grown older a year, I won't go near the water. though I can't promise. The water is too cold now, but when it warms up, I know I will break my promise.

I do 2 or 3 post everyday. That is why some times you miss some of them.

My mother would love that! She feeds the birds and must have at least 20-30 birds (or more if it's cold..) at her feeders. She has been feeding them for 40 or so years and not missing any time....xxoo

This is adorable, and I meant to tell you that I think your header is so sweet of that little Cardinal peeking through the branches. We have a lot of them here too and I really learned to love them so much.

I'm surprised you didn't want my towel topper (on my Giveaway) with the kitchen towel that has all the birds on them...but being a bird lover, you probably have a drawer full already ;-)
