We went to another children's Christmas program last night! This is the one that Ella is in. These programs are so adorable, touching, and funny. One of the little wise men had a crown problem, it kept sliding all the way down his face. As the audience howled with laughter, it only got worse because he could not keep it up and it covered his whole face. It is the fifth picture. Finally his teacher had to come on the stage and fix it. Yes, I admit that I got carried away with the pictures, especially the ones of Ella. But looking at her wonderful expressions, how was I to choose? This little girl gave it all she had, she knew every word of every song and belted them out loudly in a very hearttfelt and touching manner. She lived every story in the songs and just threw herself into it, it was an inspiration to watch. It is too bad that a lot of adults in church services seem bored with singing or don't sing at all, maybe they need to watch the children.
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Like 18:16
"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3

Enjoyed your post:)
Ginny...thank you for posting these wonderful pictures! The crown over the eyes...and Ella putting her heart into the singing and the actions...you've caught them all. Loved them all!
They are all so cute, the crown is too funny. Ella really did get into the song, those expressions are priceless. I would have been taking dozens of shots too and then had trouble deciding which to post, these are all wonderful Ginny.
Those are absolutely gorgeous.
Ella is one darling diva. There's always at least one child that is hilarious--through planning or happenstance--and I give the award to the wiseman!
Best,
Bonnie
Very sweet photos - that little girl singing out loud is just precious - well, they all are, but she's just really getting into her voice ;-)
How cute! The kids are adorable, made me smile!
So cute!
there can always be plenty of room for pictures of children continue. it's great seeing children involved in these events. thanks for your comment on my blog. yes, if you can share any ways to deal with the computer problem. my e mail is clugem@yahoo.com thanks. rose
Thanks for all the good shots of Ella. I loved hearing her sing all those songs at home and do the motions, and I'm so glad she did at the program too.
I totally understand your not coming downstairs. It was quite crowded so there wasn't much room to visit. (or hear)
I'm at the airport in Charlottesville waiting for my flight. It doesn't leave till noon, so I have plenty of time to read blogs!
Precious pictures. The little ones steal the show every time.
Blessings,Ruth
So darling, what great photos. The errant crown is funny!
I don't think there is anything more precious than a children's Christmas pageant. The pictures of Ella are adorable, and I can understand why you took so many.
these are all priceless. the two of Ella Bella below the sweetie with the crown over his face are just soooo cute i laughed out loud. she must have inherited the singing ability from her grandparents.
Oh my.... so sweet!! I do love kids Christmas Plays!!
You've captured their hearts with these photos ... thank you for sharing them.
Hi Ginny, These pictures remind me of when my now grown up son was a little guy and costumed as an Angel during a church children's choir program. That was super fun since the kids had baseball caps from the California Angels team under their pipe cleaner halo's. Memories! I am glad you got to see Ella's program. Have a wonderful day!
I can just imagine what she is singing - "Oh Come Let us adore Him", "Glo-o-o-r-r-r-i-i-i-a-a-a-", "The Little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay" perhaps, or something akin to that. Sweet pictures. Bring back memories.
Great, great pics!!! Arent the angels angelic... Ella could be a budding performer some day. The little boy with the crown, oh my goodness. Those pics brought smiles to me. Thank you.
Oh how cute Ella is.... Love both of those pictures of her singing her heart out... What a cute little program. Love seeing all of the costumes. Funny story about the child and his crown!!!!!
Glad you got to go and enjoy the program.
Hugs,
Betsy
Those are great. The crown boy was adorable. So is your Ella. A lot of the ornaments on my kitchen tree are Hallmark that my mother in law has given me over the years. I didn't even think to look at them this year so I don't know if they are still continuing the series.
What a wonderful Christmas gift you just gave me-- laughter, joy and a heart full of gladness about these little ones and the adults who helped them prepare and present this performance! Thank you for NOT choosing and instead, posting all of these. Your documenting Ella's giving it her all is priceless. Your post is another precious thread in what is turning out to be a beautiful tapestry of celebrating Jesus' birth this year.
I would have taken just as many pictures of that adorable little face. It's always so fun to watch these kinds of things, the kids are so cute. You get the shy ones, the scared ones, the ones that are front and center and loving it. I wish I had little ones to go watch :)
Oh life just doesn't get any better than this! I love the pictures!!!
We went some of our grandkiddos play last Sunday evening...just too cute.
God bless ya and have a most splendid day!!! :o)
Ginny, you caught some wonderful expressions on Ella's face. I love these!!! No wonder you couldn't choose between them. So sweet!!! I'm always blessed by your posts. Also, thank you for such a nice comment you left on my last post. You are truly an encourager!!
oh they could not be more precious! how the Lord must be so blessed by all the precious performances in His honor this time of year!
In that one picture with her mouth wide open and looking up... you can tell she put her whole heart and soul into the music! And the poor little wise man... a little girl in one of my daughter's dance recitals had a similar problem... they had on granny hats and hers would not stay on... until she got it on too well, down over her face. Then it was hilarious... trying to dance and not being able to see where she was dancing.
I think it is so wonderful when we can see things through the eyes of children - makes you feel happy and complete. sandie
