Monsters

We have had monsters in our house for quite some time! It's this monster bean bag toss game, actually a lot of fun to play! Here are our granddaughter Anne and Phil peeking through it. There was a shopping bag in our bedroom for quite a while, and whenever we put Ella down for a nap, she was scared a mummy would pop out of it.  So when she would go in the bedroom, she would say "Take care of the mummy problem", and we would remove the bag. Pleasant dreams ensued. In the last picture she is showing how a monster walks. She lunges from side to side with unbending knees and curled fingers. We all have monsters we are afraid of, whether tangible or not. Two of my tangible ones are spiders and heights, what are some of yours? There's one really big monster a lot of people are scared to death of, but we don't have to be anymore.

"Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it's logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil's hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death."
Hebrews 2:14,15

Our Lorelei loves to play monster...she loves for us to play hide-n-seek with her and jump out and scare her...she screams and giggles and giggles.

What a cute game. My fears? Heights for sure. I hate being afraid so I try to face my fears but I have only been indoor rock climbing and that nearly made me cry! Hubby has jumped out of planes when he was in the Army...He has very little fears in comparision to me!
:O) Blessings, Joanne

Haven't been for a visit for awhile... what a fun posting to pop in on!

Enjoyed your lovely kitty photo in the header -- beautiful puddy-tat!

Ella has really got the monster walk perfected. The monster bean bag game sounds like fun. I'm sort of afraid of heights. I love to fly and visit mountain tops but ladders are not my favorite thing. I use ladders but I'm not fond of them.

Okay, I want to know about the kitty in your header. It has the heart shape on its nose like my Bandit.

You're going to laugh at me, but my biggest monster is vomit. I hate puke! I've gotten a little better about it w/ having 3 boys, but I still hate it!

That game is so cute!

dear sister, you already know my list is so long it would not all fit in this little comment box. i share your two that you listed and a whole SKY full of others. BWAK BWAK the sky is falling, the sky is falling. i must say though, monsters are not on my list of fears. not this kind anyway. Ella and Ann Marie are the cutest monsters ever. my question is for Phil, how did he get up from putting his face in that thing sitting on the floor. I FEAR if i did that, i would still be there.

Such a blessing that the little ones in your life trust you to remove the monsters from their lives. Good training for choosing to trust the Savior. Fun and thoughtful post!

Those were cute monsters in the pictures.

At least for Ella you can remove her monsters from her.

Like God can do for us too.

That game looks like fun - especially putting your face in the spaces.
I'm not so much scared of heights as I am scared that I'll fling myself off. Why I would do that I have no idea.

I like your kind of monsters!

Not too many things that are real monsters for me but I really don't like heights and snakes give me the willies.
Love that Ella asks you to take care of the mummies and has the perfect confidence you will do so.
I like how you bring the spiritual aspect into each post.
have a great weekend Ginny.

Hi Ginny,

You always have such playful pictures of the girls and I love that Phil really gets into the spirit of it.

Happy Halloween,

"take care of the mummy problem" :) that's cute. If only everything was fixed that easily.
That's a cute game and it looks like Anne and Phil have a very interesting way of playing it

Hi Ginny, Trying to catch up a bit even before we get home. I have seen Ella several times but don't remember seeing Anne. Such darling granddaughters. Terry is afraid of heights, although he holds a pilots license. As long as he is closed in and cannot look down, like over a bridge or balconey etc he is ok. Me, flying insects in a closed place, like the car. I really freak out. Also am clastrophobic and sort of on the same vein, elevators if the doors take too long to open once it stops at the floor I want, especially if I am alone in the elevator. Do you know how Betsy is? I am very concerned. Blessings,
Lynn

Our little neighborhood (80 houses) has a parade for the children and we look forward to seeing the little ones all dressed up. Pizza and candy for everyone.

What a pleasure that grandchild is to you and Phil. And how wonderful that you can take care of the "mummy" problems, like God took care of our common enemy (the last one that will be destroyed, death) so we sleep without fear. Always enjoy the spiritual applications that you make here. Blessings on you and your family.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
