Lovers On The Go

Look out world! Make way, step aside! We are running amok in public, hugging, smooching and carrying on. And with no thought to the disgust or feelings of others. That's because we are lovers on the go!!! How did this drastic change come about? A simple trip to Whole Foods this evening. Since it was a Friday evening, they were very busy, and we were searching for a good checkout line. Way at the end, there was one that was not very busy, so we hurried to it. Much to our surprise, this lane was Lover's Lane, for lovers on the go only!!! It was designated by a sign, and an archway of netting and flowers under which couples walk to the conveyor belt. We began to turn back, but a clerk informed us to go right ahead and check out. I questioned her as to whether we actually qualified as lovers on the go, seeing as we are old and I was in a motorized scooter. She assured us that we could go right ahead, so we did. And here I thought we were geezers. Will wonders never cease? The counter was a veritable wonderland of love, with the computer surrounded by hearts! And on the way out, I discovered that they were actually selling love! It seemed pretty expensive to me, but you can't really put a price on love, can you?

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
1 Cor. 13:13

A Lover's Lane checkout, what a great idea for Valentines! You and Phil are a loving couple so you definitely qualified.

Me, I never turn down a quick exit from a store. I would have told them my fella was in the car waiting!

Hey! We've got Whole Foods here. I'm going to have to go up and check out their Valentine's signs. I LIKE that store. I hardly ever go there though because one is a zillion miles north and the other one is about as many miles south. I could wander around in there for hours though.

That was a funny post Ginny. I think you and Phil would qualify as lovers on the go. In fact you have been going at love for longer than most of the others that were in that line!

Hello Ginny, thanks for the visit to our blog via Sandra. It seems we are (almost) neighbors both living in Virginia - you are in the mountains and we are on the VA eastern shore. Also both in small towns, ours has slightly over 500 folks. Enjoyed your Valentine's shopping post.

"Lover's Lane" Not far from where I live is a road many people know as lover's lane.Jake and I have been down that road many a time, sometimes to share a moment of tenderness, but mostly to look for birds to photograph.Have a great day.

Hi Ginny, You always seem to have very creative posts on your blog and today's is no exception! Have a wonderful Saturday!

I don't think there's an age limit on LOVE, if anything, true love should get even better with age - and from what I can tell, you two qualify for Lover's Lane any time of year -
Happy Valentine's Day on Monday!

What a wonderful thought on the part of that grocery store. None of them around here would do that. Age makes no difference when it comes to love.

Hi, I came over from Lady, Liberty, Patriot. I am a bit jealous because at the Whole Foods store where I live and shopped today, there was no Lovers checkout. Your story is cute!

Hi Ginny. This is so cute. Very clever. I like Whole Foods. My son is a manager at one of their stores and I will ask him if they did this at his store. BTW, his birthday is on Valentine's Day. Gotta love that!
