Prelude To A Moon

O radiant dark! O darkly fostered ray!
Thou hast a joy too deep for shallow Day. George Eliot

The night I took the pictures of the Hunger Moon, I saw an even more spectacular prelude. Sometimes you can only hold your breath and look.

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Ooo..that's a powerful quote by E.K.Ross! "when the darkness sets in true beauty is revealed only if there is light within" picture me chewing on this!! This series and your header are just beautiful!
I took photos of the sky this afternoon of the clouds..they looked like cotton candy that seemed to grow from small fuzzy balls to large that spread out. I was amazed at how pretty but they looked unusual just the same?
How is the fire? Well I hope you get some rain very soon!

Wow....these are stunning pictures!! Love that bright glow which takes away our attention from the dark background. Reminds me of the beautiful song that says 'Turn your eyes upon Jesus and look full in His wonderful face. And the things on earth will grow strangely dim. In the light of His glory and grace.' It's so true.

Wonderful quote! And the photos are spectacular. I love imagining exactly where you are in the valley when you take them. I'm a little homesick!

I loved this post and the one about all your fires too. I never really thought of all the fire in the bible. But you are right! Very interesting.
You must have a nice camera to take all these pictures!

Gorgeous photos!

The weather has been wonderful and I can't quit taking pictures either LOL

I read your comment on another blogger's post (The best of my Life) and you asked about cutting down with the posting and commenting...I have recently done that because my time is really getting away with me and I have to start cutting back! I don't want to, but I also don't want to spend my whole life in front of the computer!

Hello Ginny, happy days are here again, our internet connection was so bad this week so I was out of the blogging world. Yes my mom, we love her very much was given a surprise birthday with that cake, we did not attend her birthday because where very far from her right now, maybe next year we can attend. By the way, your pictures are so amazingly stunning and love all of it. Have a happy Word Filled Wednesday too. Blessings for you today.

Breathtaking photos Ginny. The rain covered our full moon this time.
So sorry to hear about the awful fires and wild winds you have been having.
Beautiful blog and perfect wprds to go with it.
To answer your question about the ABC Wednesday post. Yes it is a waterfall and I took the shot at Disneyland a few years ago. Their design team does an amazing job.

Ginny I think this is one of the best posts you've written. The pictures are absolutely breath taking - no wonder you love it there.

And it is so true - beauty is only skin deep - the real beauty is within - and YOU are BEAUTIFUL!
