The Many And The One

I hope all my blogging friends are having a great Fourth weekend! These are some photos I snapped driving around. Images of freedom in a small southern town. Our freedom is so often taken for granted. There are countries where I would not be able to write this blog publicly and say what I think. Many, many men died to give our country liberty and justice for all. But only one man died to give the whole world eternal freedom.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed." Isaiah 53:5,6

I had forgotten it was your 4th of July today. Well obviously ours too but not with the same connotations. Will probably have a few more reminders before the day is over, though. Have a Good Day.

I've thought of that with all this blogging also. Sometimes I make not so nice comments about our officials at the top. There are countries around the world where you'd be put to death for doing that. America, with all of its problems and sometimes faults now, is still the greatest country in the world. (Although if I could just find that little island in the South Pacific somewhere and just live out my life...Mmmmm... I'd like that.)

It is such a gift in one way to live in this country...we have so many freedoms others can only dream of...but I agree with you that we take it all for granted most of the time. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Ginny...my mom has arthritis inside the nerve canal of her spine...we came back from our vacation and found that our sprinkler system went on the fritz....we've had a very wet year but it had slowed and our grass was crunchy and lots of brown and my flowers were so droopy. We're going to be lush again after this weeks rain...they say it may take until Friday to clear through here. I haven't gotten around much in June...vacation an going to help my mom. I'm hoping for a quiet spell for a couple of weeks...mom may need surgery if this next treatment this week doesn't relieve the pain. Thanks for dropping in!

Just watched the "Capitol 4th" and now watching the local fireworks (from my window) at the fairgrounds. They are about a mile away but very pretty and not so loud at this distance. Andrew and I had handfuls of berries and Oliver ate them from his bowl. But, no cake for Ollie!!

Best,
Bonnie
